Digitizing with a vendor
On the Line, hosted by Brian Lehrer, broadcast on WNYC during the 1990s.
As intern in the WNYC archives, I prepared the On the Line series for digitization with a vendor. Working primarily wth ¼ open reel tapes, I staged the materials and described them at the item level using PBCore and Library of Congress controlled vocabularies.
A big part of this project was developing cataloging policies as new information about the series emerged. I worked closely with the small archival team to recommend policies that met the specific needs of the series that I was working on, and also were consistent with the larger collection.
